Who is the partner?
Kalevala.pl is a piece of Lapland in the polish mountains. It is located in the highest village in Karkonosze – Borowice. The founders of this place are Magda and Michal Makowski, who put a lot of heart into what they do. Up to their ears in love with Finland, they bring a lot of interesting ideas to their little enclave. From Kauppatori (a form of market where you can buy local organic farm produce every week), to the Kalevala Spirit Festival, where world stars play.
What was the problem we had to solve?
The same challenge arises with every event, everything happens only once and there is no second chance to capture something. The concert is no exception.
How did we solve this problem?
There was no time to collect unnecessary material, so the plan of what scenes we needed was created before the event. A few hours of preparation and discussion of the script we laid out for the event resulted in a visually interesting film.
What is the result for Kalevala?
This is another production for Kalevala. We record more unconventional ideas of Magda and Michal. The Kalevala Spirit Festival, whose guest in this edition was Apocalyptica, is a dream come true for the founders of Kalevala and an unusual undertaking for Karkonosze conditions. A large stage, sound system, lighting and all the facilities under the Finnish musicians are a lot of preparations. Thanks to productions like this one, the Kalevala is becoming even more recognized, also internationally. In addition to capturing the atmosphere that was at the event, the film was also meant to show the determination to achieve the goal.
